After many a successful community theater production, Amanda Bynes broke into the world of show business at the age of 10, when she first appeared on the Nickelodeon network's sketch-comedy series All That. She won a Kids' Choice Award for each of her four years on the show (in different categories), and has been nominated for two Young Artists Awards. The network gave her a similar show of her own called The Amanda Show, and in 2002 she began her stint as a main character in the WB network's What I Like About You. In 2002, she appeared in the film Big Fat Liar, starring Frankie Muniz of Malcolm in the Middle fame, and in 2003 she starred in What a Girl Wants, opposite Kelly Preston and Colin Firth. And in 2007, Amanda Bynes earned herself much popularity after appearing in the hit movie musical Hairspray, starring John Travolta. Amanda Laura Bynes was born on April 3, 1986, in Thousand Oaks, California. At the age of 10, she performed at a Laugh Factory kids' comedy showcase and was immediately approached by an executive from the Nickelodeon television network, and the laughs haven't stopped since. She became well known for her spirited role in "Ask Ashley," a sketch about an advice columnist.
